I have a doubt to clarify. Recently, I came across to one of the company's experience letter where the content was as below -
This is to certify that Mr. A had worked with XYZ company since --- to ---.
My doubt is with the selection of word -had.
The reason I feel so because when I looked closely at the letter, it had the date when that letter was typed. The letter was issued to the employee on his last working day - 4th April'16 and the letter had this date on top of it.
For me, the content should have been - This is to certify that Mr. A has worked with XYZ company since --- to ---.
Though, there're many other ways to write this content; however, I was concern with the usage of has and had.
The correct way to say it in the context that you have given is: "Mr A worked for XYZ company from 01 to 02".
