Re: was at school or was in school

The first is correct in BrE. I think the second is used in AmE.
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

    Either works in AmE.

Re: was at school or was in school

When to use "at school" and "in school" ? I supposed there is a difference in usage for each of them.

    Note my corrections above.

We don't use "When to" at the start of a question.
Don't put a space before a question mark.

As bhaisahab said in post #2, "at school" is used in BrE. As GoesStation said in post #3, they are both use in AmE. The meaning is the same.

Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
