Other cultures also imagined sphinxes with a lion's body and (a) person's face, with or without wings.
This sentence is from Ivy English magazine. There is no a before person's face in the original sentence. But, I wonder if it is also correct and fine to add an a before person's face. In fact, I know that the same part after the word "and" can be omitted, but in this case will you prefer to omit it or not? Thanks!

    I would definitely include 'a'.

I'd also use it, but I wouldn't say that it is wrong without it.
