    Preposition before vs above

    Is it possible in these sentences swap the prepositions
    I put my wife and kids before anyone else.
    I value personality above experience or qualifications
    .
    Like
    I put my wife and kids above anyone else.
    I value personality before experience or qualifications.

    I prefer these. I can't say that the others are wrong, but they don't seem as natural to me.
    However, if you reverse "put" and "value" as well, they would work for me.

    No, don't swap them. We usually use them as they are in the original examples so no need to swap.


    • before for prioritising
    • above for ranking
