    War was on everyone's mind.

This sentence comes from my short story. I am not sure whether or not it is correct. Would you please correct my mistakes?

War was on everyone's mind, even on the patients' suffering from serious injuries and illnesses.

I apologize for asking my question from yesterday the second time. Could a teacher take a look and my sentence and correct my mistakes?
