    breaks from being identify with

    Hi!
Is the following passage correct? It is from a book about mobile learning, and the sentences printed in bold are problematic. Their meaning is unclear.

Device options force a pedagogical understanding of the learning potential of devices, and breaks from being identified with IOS, android, smartphone, or tablet to the learning affordances of mobile device utilization.

    Thanks very much

Please cite the title and author of the book. It looks like total rubbish to me.
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

Yes, you are right - the meaning is unclear. The sentence is badly written.
