    Submerged in the fiction

I have a problem with the following sentence. I am not sure if it sounds natural. Is it correct to say " submerged in" or it should be "with"? Would you please correct my mistakes?

Their brainwashed minds were so submerged in the fiction and myths that they shunned reality.

    Re: Submerged in the fiction

The sentence is fine as is. It would be wrong with 'submerged with'.
