Hey, guys! :)
I'm going to take IELTS test in a few months.
Have you taken IELTS or TOEFL?
I'd appreciate if you shared your experience ;-)
Thanks in advance!

Do you need a specific grade?

Out of curiosity, since you are a native English speaker, why are you taking the IELTS?

Hi Donna,

I'm going to take IELTS.
I took a sample test some weeks ago. I don't like to go to usual IELTS preperation classes here. However I see this site useful and I hope I can get score 7 at least.
Now I am 5.5
;))

Ladies and gentlemans,

I did mess up my IELTS sample test.
Here's my marks:

Listening 6
Reading 5
Writing 5.5
Speaking 7
Band score 5.5

(Don't believe the speaking mark; I'm pretty good at speaking in COMPARISON to other students.)

What the hell I should do for my awful reading?
Do you have any suggestions for me?

I think it needs ton of practice. I agree with Piscean. This exam is not just how you know the language, but how you can use it.
As a matter of a fact, I'm also in trouble with the reading part. Even though, I'm pretty sure I've understood everything, I might get lost in answering question. Time is limited, which is so stressful, so easy to mess up. I think I have to learn how to work under pressure :)

Time management is important- if you're spending too much time on one area, you are damaging your chances in others. However, your English is good, so you shouldn't worry too much. Given your interactions on the forum, the minimum grade should be well within your grasp, so work towards the higher end.
