    prop oneself against

    Hi!

The dictionary gives the word combination "prop oneself" with preposition "against". But it seems to me appropriate to use this preposition in the cases like this "prop oneself against the wall or against the board". What if I say "prop oneself on the walking-stick"? Is "on" a better option here or it still should be "against"?

    Re: prop oneself against

I would use "prop myself up" followed by whatever preposition is appropriate to the context.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: prop oneself against

"Propping oneself on a walking stick" gives the impression that the only thing touching the ground is the walking stick. There are probably acrobats who can do this.
