The owner shall place the mast in an en route position in order for the shipyard to..

    Hello everybody!

The Owner shall place the mast in an en route position in order for the Shipyard to dismantle (it).

I hasten to explain to you what I mean.

A few das ago a workmate of mine asked me to translate the sentence in question into English for him. The original was in Polish.

The Owner is supposed to place the mast in the so-called en route position. Then the shipyard will dismantle the mentioned mast.

I know that optional (it) need not be used in this sentence. Am I wrong? As for the en route position, it is a position when a ship is ready to set sail.

    Do you agree with me?

    Thank you.

I disagree. Dismantle needs an object.

I have never heard of the 'en route' position for a mast. Where did you find this expression.
