    beaten up so much

    Which are correct:

    1) He seemed so beaten up that I pitied him.
    2) He seemed so much beaten up that I pitied him.
    3) He seemed beaten up so much that I pitied him.

    4) He was so beaten up by the thugs that he started begging for his live.
    5) He was so much beaten up by the thugs that he started begging for his live.
    6) He was beaten up so much by the thugs that he started begging for his live.

The verb is stative in the first three sentences and dynamic in the second three.

    Gratefully,
    Navi.

    Re: beaten up so much

The noun you're looking for in the last three sentences is life. Live can be a verb with the same vowel as "tip" or an adjective with the same vowel as "eye". Life has the same vowel as "ice".

    Re: beaten up so much

Of the first three, only #1 works.

In 4, 5 and 6, you need "He was/was being/had been beaten up so badly by the thugs ..."
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
