Which would sound better for overpopulation? "solved", "resolved" or "settled"?[/FONT]

I'd use "resolved". The first sentence contains several errors.

The first one is before correction, but the second one, after correction.

Why can't "solve" work here?

Note that a space is required before each opening parenthesis: this problem_(overpopulation)....

I indicated where to insert a space with an underscore character.

Solve is a word we use with mathematical problems, which are relatively simple and deductive compared to sociological problems, which require 'finesse' in Pascal's sense of the word -- a deep understanding of many areas, with a great ability to weigh different types of variables.

What errors does it have? Is the correction right?
this problem(overpopulation) can be
solved(resolved or settled) when there are combined efforts by every sector of our society.
=> ...if every sector of our society makes efforts together.

One problem it has is the lack of a space before each open parenthesis.

I'd use "resolved". The first sentence contains several errors.

When I posted a similar thread about where to use solve and where to use resolve, I was told to use solve with problems, and resolve with issues.

The issues has been resolved.
The problem has been solved.

Now when I am looking at this thread I am getting confused with the answers.

As a result, This problem [because "This" is singular] will be solved when there are combined efforts [because "there are" is plural] by every sector of our society.
=> This problem [space] (overpopulation) [It's grammatical, but it's better not to say "(overpopulation)." It should already be clear. If it's not clear, then start the sentence with "Overpopulation," not "This problem."] can be solved [space] (resolved or settled) ["solved" is the best word] when there are combined efforts by every sector of our society.

Which would sound best: "solved", "resolved," or "settled"?

Does that help?
