    how to handwrite "I'll"

    Dear all,

When you handwrite "I'll" or "we'll", In which order do you normally write?

    1. I→I'→I'll
    2. I→I ll→I'll

    Thank you

    OP

The first way, on the very rare occasions when I handwrite anything. Nowadays I often go for months without using a pen except to scrawl a signature.
    I am not a teacher.

    That's interesting - I just tested myself.
    For a contraction, I write the ' in order. I ' ll
For possessives, I add the ' after I write the word including the s.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Yes. The only things most people back-track for are dotting I's and crossing T's.
I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.

    Re: how to handwrite "I'll"

Are we talking printing or cursive? Cause in cursive you would probably link the I and L's together and then go back and add an apostrophe. But if printing, it would just be done left-to-right.
