What does run it past mean?

I told someone the price is $500 and he replied this: "I might know someone who might be interested at $500, I’ll run it past him."

    What does he mean?

    Thanks

Re: What does run it past mean?

    'I'll ask him.'
    'I'll see what he thinks'.
