But I am also still learning about prayer in general.

But I am also still learning about prayer in general. (Three Times Three Equals Twelve)

In the above sentence, does in general refer to prayer or the whole sentence?

Re: But I am also still learning about prayer in general.

    3 x 3 = 9

Either way, the sentence means the same thing.

Can you ask your question differently or explain it in more detail?
I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.

But I am also still learning about prayer in general. (quoted from Three Times Three Equals Twelve)

Can I rewrite the above sentence as follows?
But in general I am also still learning about prayer.

BTW, Three Times Three Equals Twelve is the title of a book.

Thank you, but we want to know the author (Brian Mills), not where to buy the book.

Because he's been quoted, and it's always better to give references. The Amazon link is fine for me, and probably OK for the author.

The answer to your question is that in general modifies prayer in that sentence.
    I am not a teacher.

It's a mark of respect — if not a legal requirement — to name the author of a quoted published work, and in some cases, knowing the author helps us to answer the question more effectively.
