    through the short term

A case of conflicting values? Yes, indeed. In our seminar, the young agent articulated them: her desire to pursue the truth on one hand, and her boss's desire to retain this family's business on the other. Also figuring here: her desire to do her job conscientiously, building for the long haul, versus her boss's desire to move efficiently and without unnecessary entanglements through the short term.

Would you be so kind as to tell me whether '
    through' here means 'via'?

    Thanks.

    Re: through the short term

I'd use 'in the short term'.

I would too, but I think it does mean something like via.
