    to make his painting technique

My favorite artist is Pablo Picasso. He was born on Oct. 25th, 1881 in Malaga, Spain. His genre of art is painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramic, etc. His major life events are : He had painted only using blue color for four years since 1901 due to his friend's death. In 1907, he painted Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, (so his painting technique of cubism became famous./to make his painting technique of cubism became famous.)

    Which is more natural?
1.In 1907, he painted Les Demoiselles d'Avignon, so his painting technique of cubism became famous.
    2. In 1907, he painted Les Demoiselles d'Avignon to make his painting technique of cubism became famous.

If you use "and," it will be more natural.
I'm not a teacher. I speak American English. I've tutored writing at the University of Southern Maine and have done a good deal of copy editing and writing, occasionally for publication.
