    beaming with happiness

The answer is “beaming”. Why is “beamed” incorrect?

Ray, beaming with happiness, ran home to tell his parents the good news.

    Thank you!

    Re: beaming with happiness

The writer wants the reader to understand that the beaming did not end before Ray ran home. He was still beaming as he ran.
