Is divison (in terms of a company) in front of the division name allowed?

Hi, my company division I'm working for got a new name. Now they have translated it to english and I'm quite sure that it is wrong but I want to confirm before I confront my boss with the bad news.

Division name is something like "Engineering of Selfdriving Cars" (I changed to not blame anyone). Now they called the division offcially on business cards: "Division Engineering of Selfdriving Cars".

For my personal languare feeling it would be better "Engineering of Selfdriving Cars Division" because there is nothing like "Division Engineering" isn't it?

But the relevant question is: Is it wrong to call it "Division Engineering of Selfdriving Cars" when I'm talking of a company division which is engineering selfdriving cars or is it only difficult to understand?

    Regards, Michael

The company name followed by "Engineering Division" is usual in my experience. For example: "Acme Industries Engineering Division".
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

I agree with bhai, but could also accept in conversation 'I work for the engineering division of Acme Industries'.

It does not sound good with 'Division' as the first word.

Yes, it's wrong. Try "Self-Driving Cars Engineering Division."

Re: Is divison (in terms of a company) in front of the division name allowed?

Thank you for your Answers. So the division has to stand on the end of the division’s official name.

Thank you also for the hint with the "Self-Driving Cars Engineering Division". This was also my first thought for the perfect naming. But then I was very uncertain because someone could think it is the whole “Cars Engineering Division” which is self-driving. Obviously this is nonsense but in my native language this is an issue we want to avoid. So, this is not a big deal in English?

Re: Is divison (in terms of a company) in front of the division name allowed?

I would have suggested "Self-Driving Car Engineering Division". If you want to avoid any potential ambiguity, you could add brackets or a dash.

    Self-Driving Cars (Engineering Division)
Self Driving Cars - Engineering Division
    Engineering Division (Self-Driving Cars)
    Engineering Division - Self-Driving Cars
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
