Dear all,

Is it okay to say "I'm going to go to the library tomorrow"?

Or should I just say "I'm going to the library"?

I wonder if "going to go to" may sound a little redundant.

Thank you

No, it's fine if you're planning to go to the library. When going to is an auxiliary verb, we usually pronounce it "gonna": I'm gonna go to the library, but I'm going to the library now.

It's not a question of redundancy, it's two different meanings.

I'm going to go to the library on Thursday.
I'm going to the library right now.

To me they mean exactly the same thing. In fact, I said it to my wife an hour ago: "I'm going to go to the library."

And here I am. (And I didn't say "gonna.")

They can be used in the same situation, but the meaning is slightly different. One announces intention (even if the intention is immediate) and the other simply states the action.

With the verb go, I think that this difference in meaning is always present- some people simply omit to go rather than say it twice.
