    1) Forbidding them any means to attain their dreams would be against our principles.
    2) Forbidding them all means to attain their dreams would be against our principles.

    Which of the above means:
    a) According to our principles, we cannot forbid them even one of the means to attain their dreams.
    and which means:
    b) According to our principles, we cannot forbid them all means to attain their dreams. We must allow them to have some means to attain their dreams.

    I would say that '1' corresponds to 'a' and '2' to 'b'. I have stronger doubts about '1'.

    Yes, you are correct. "Can't deny any" means that you must permit all.
