    Re: got sort of lifted

What is the source of that sentence?
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

Please note my corrections to the first part of your post. Start every sentence with a capital letter, enclose words or phrases you are querying in quotation marks, and use just one punctuation mark at the end of every sentence.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

You have apparently quoted a question about Cuba from a travel site. It's written in casual English. The writer means since the government stopped enforcing many aspects of the embargo.
