the adverb place in the sentence

    Hello everybody,
Could you tell me in which sentence the adverb ''coldly'' in the right place.

He coldly told him to sit down.
    or
He told him coldly to sit down.

    Is the second sentence correct?

    Thank you in advance

Re: the adverb place in the sentence

Yes, it is. "Coldly" is one of those adverbs that is generally not too fussy about its linear position in a sentence. Note that you could also have Coldly, he told him to sit down.
