the function of "with Walt Disney's opening of the first Disneyland"

What is the function of the underlined part grammatically?
It was not until the 1950s, with Walt Disney's opening of the first Disneyland, that roller coasters began to make a comeback.
    Thanks in advance.

    Probably a prepositional phrase.

I agree with Rover KE; it is a 'preposition phrase'. But that is its category; its function is another matter altogether. Identifying the function of with- PPs can sometimes be tricky, but this one is straightforward: it's a supplementary adjunct, a non-integrated separate 'unit of meaning', set apart from the rest of the sentence by punctuation such as commas and by a slight pause in speech. Its semantic category is probably 'reason', since the reason that roller coasters began to make a comeback was Walt Disney's opening of the first Disneyland.
