    Please set off the overdue of X company's 1500.00 with the over payment of Y company's 1500.00

    See above. We usually set something off against something else.

    I don't know what currency your email refers to but I think you probably need some kind of currency symbol, either before or after the numbers.
    Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
