Should it be united as one instead?

This year is the second year towards accomplishing our missions. Like in previous years, we, priesthood and laity of Kaimyo-in Temple, are striving forth earnestly together united in one.

The above is from a Nichiren Shoshu Buddhist magazine.

Should it be united as one instead? Thanks.

It should be noted that the whole piece is not well written.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: Should it be united as one instead?

This is the second year in which we have moved towards accomplishing our missions. As in previous years, we (the priesthood and lay people of the Kaimyo-in Temple), are united in our [earnest] endeavours.

That would be one way of improving it (in my opinion).
