make concrete action vs take concrete action

Let us all chant Daimoku earnestly with the heart of repaying our debts of gratitude, make concrete action and accomplish our great goals as planned.

The above is from a Nichiren Shu magazine.

Should it be take concrete action instead?

    Thanks.

Re: make concrete action vs take concrete action

Yes, we "take action", we don't "make action". However, as with the other quote you posted, it's not well-written. I think you're going to have your work cut out if you plan to find and correct all the errors in an entire magazine (if it's all written in the same standard of English).
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: make concrete action vs take concrete action

Thanks, emsr2d2. I am trying to improve my English step by step by confirming with native speakers on this forum any errors I spot in this magazine. I agree with you that the pieces of writing I have posted so far are not well-written.

Thanks again. I appreciate all the help of native speakers on this forum.

This phrase doesn't work for me either.

Does 'with gratitude in our hearts' work?
    I am not a teacher.
