Since a few years

Hello. I've come into this sentence: 'Since a few years, technologies have been more present in our lives'. It doesn't sound correct to me. In Spanish there is a subtle difference between 'Durante los últimos años': 'For the last few years' and 'Desde hace unos cuantos años': 'Since a few years ago?'

Welcome to the forum, Maca.

That is not good English. After 'since', we need a specific time, such as '1945', 'the early 1960s', 'the turn of the century' etc.
