He needs a woman who is grounded...

    Hello there,

I don't quite get the meaning of this sentence. I know the vocabularies but to me it doesn't make any sense when putting them all together. Here is the sentence:

"He needs a woman who is grounded and in-tune with the realities of life so she can help him keep his feet on the ground"

Does it simply mean a woman who is to get along well with him or what ?

    Thanks

    Re: Meaning of sentence

What is the source of that sentence?
“Every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud, adopts as a last resource pride in the nation to which he belongs; he is ready and happy to defend all its faults and follies tooth and nail, thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.”

    Re: Meaning of sentence

Yes thanks for reminding me, I was told before but the phrase is just too long. I will remember next time. The source is from the site called zodiac-signs-astrology.com.

    Thanks

"He needs a woman who is grounded and in-tune with the realities of life so she can help him keep his feet on the ground"

It means a woman who is realistic, down-to-earth, practical and rational, rather than one who is idealistic and unrealistic, a dreamer.
