    I had been here and I have ...: Well, present perfect and past perfect.

    Present perfect relates a past time to the present time:

    I have been standing here for an hour. (and I still am standing here now)
    I have never been to Texas. (and still have not been there)


    Past perfect relates one past time to another past time:

    I had been standing here for an hour when the train finally arrived.
    I had never been to Texas when Uncle George invited me to his ranch.
