To track and learn about their behavior, scientists using an electronic tracker...

    Hi tacher !!!

I am practising on making sentence with gerund and participle phrase. I am wondering if my phrase is a fragment and confusing between two of this:

    1. To track and learn about their behavior, scientists using an electronic tracker to attach on sharks’ body.

    2. Scientists use an electronic tracker to attach on sharks’ body to track and learn about their behaviour.

I prefer using the first one but it's not a full sentence yet right ?

You're right, number 1 isn't a sentence because it lacks a main verb.

You attach something to a or to the shark's body.

Decide whether you want to say sharks' bodies or a shark's body.
