"the" again, it's always about "the"

    Hey everybody

I was watching a documentary called "March of the dinosaurs" and wondered about the meaning and significance of "the". Why did they put "the" there?

    why not for example:

"march of the dinosaur" - without plural s - to refer to the species
or "march of dinosaurs" - without the -

Dinosaur is not a single species, so the dinosaurs could refer to all the different species. Your singular version is also possible, but it doesn't carry the notion of diversity for me the way the plural does.

    Thanks Tdol
That seems right because the movie is about several different type of dinosaurs.
