Question What does " I couldn't go to either of them." mean exactly?

for example, i was invited to two parties last week, but I couldn't go to either of them.

does it mean I couldn't go to both parties? or i couldn't go one of them?

Capitalise the first word of every sentence and the pronoun 'I' at all times.

It means you couldn't go to one and you couldn't go to the other.

'I couldn't go to both parties' implies that it was possible for you to go to one of them.
