Question Can we say: Don' leave me on my way?

In a song, can we say:
Don't leave me on my way
the context is, don't leave me here on this path
does it make sense? or is it bad english?
Cause it rhymes perfectly with my previous sentence...I would like to keep it :)
    Thanks in advance!
