    Blood sugar with empty stomach.

"We have to get this test done with empty stomach".

"Your blood sugar should be between 60-110 when gou are empty stomach".

    Please check.

What would be the opposite of empty stomach? Is it full stomach?

Re: Blood sugar with empty stomach.

It's not about having an empty stomach. It's about fasting for 10-12 hours. Not quite the same thing.

Re: Blood sugar with empty stomach.

This test has to be done on an empty stomach.
Your blood sugar should be between 60-110 when you have an empty stomach.

Yes, a full stomach is the opposite of an empty stomach.

Yes, it is, but not entirely relevant, as Dave has explained.
In fact, your stomach can be full of water, which you are allowed to drink before getting a fasting blood sugar done.

Re: Blood sugar with empty stomach.

    So, what should we say?

"This test has to be done when you have fasted for 10-12 hours".

"Your blood glucose level should be between 60-110 when you are fasting and 90-120 when you are full stomach".

    Please check.

What about Andrew's sentences? I know what you are saying that there could be water in the stomach and that can't be considered as empty stomach. Usually we don't consider water as something that can fill our stomach thats why I am asking this.

Re: Blood sugar with empty stomach.

Having anything other than water in your stomach will invalidate a fasting blood sugar test. If you eat a candy bar right before the test, then your stomach isn't "empty," but it isn't "full" either.

"Full" is not the direct opposite of "empty" for this context. If the instructions on some medicine say "do not take on an empty stomach," it means you have to eat something before taking. It does not mean you need to stuff yourself so that you would say you were "full."

    How about 60-110 mg/dl?

Yes, that is the unit of measurement we use in the US. Not sure what you people with the metric system use.

Could you please tell, What is the word then? Because "full" isn't the opposite of "empty" in this context. Could you also please tell me are my sentences correct in post# 5 or what is the correct way to say these sentences?

"This test has to be done when you have fasted for 10-12 hours".
    Yes, this is correct.
"Your blood glucose level should be between 60-110 when you are fasting and 90-120 when you are full stomach".
No, simply say "non-fasting" or "after eating."
