    torn away from the plow

    Hello.

Here in Poland, we have a saying that describes a very strong man, namely, a man torn away from the plow.

In my opinion, such a man (a mountain of a man) is extremely powerful and treats a plow in front of him as if it were a toy to him.

Does it convey the thought properly? We ca say "a man torn away from the plow" = "a man of great might".

Is this the way you would call him, as well?

    Thank you.

Re: torn away from the plow

It's certainly not a phrase used in BrE. Also, for me, "a man torn away from the plough" (BrE spelling) sounds like someone who has been unwillingly taken away from his farming implement. That doesn't suggest strength. In fact, it suggests the opposite.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Say:

Is this how you would express that thought?

We might say he was like Hercules (the mythical Greek hero who was half man, half god.)
