Hello, everyone.

in this sentence"FingerWorks had developed some tablets with multi-touch sensing capabilities and taken out patents on ways to translate various finger gestures, sue as pinches and wipes, into useful function.", I'm not so certain about" take out patents on ways", does it mean use patents?

I'm very appreciative of your help.

"They had taken out patents" means they had applied for patents and acquired them for those particular inventions.

FingerWorks had... taken out patents means the company applied for and received patents.

I think you meant such as where you wrote "sue as". The latter doesn't make sense.

I think you might also mean "pinches and swipes", not "wipes".

Got it. Thank you [STRIKE]sooo[/STRIKE] so much!

Thanks for your correction. I accidentally [STRIKE]did have[/STRIKE] made those typos.

Note my corrections above. It's important to follow these rules of written English:

- Start every sentence with a capital letter.
- End every sentence with one, appropriate punctuation mark.
- Always capitalise the word "I".

Please use standard English on the forum. The word "sooo" does not exist.
