I extracted this sentence from a science site talking about "How much sleep do really need?". Can you please explain to me what does " Taking this into account" mean ? I have searched several meaning of "account" but I don't seem to apply it well in this context.
"Taking this into account, the US National Sleep Foundation updated their guidelines last year, and came up with a recommended range of 7 to 9 hours for adults, but with added leeway of an hour either side to account for natural variation..."

danghuynh88, You don't need to begin every post with 'Hello everyone', let alone incorrectly and annoyingly follow it with three exclamation marks. Just go ahead and ask your question.
'Taking this into account' means 'Bearing this in mind' or 'Taking this into consideration'.
To understand the sentence fully, we need to know what 'this' refers to from the previous sentence.
You have omitted a word between 'do' and 'really'.
