    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    The question was this: ''For a while Matisse felt under the influence of Gooier and, later, under ____ of Cezanne.''

    I asked this question of you because the answer key was 'those' but not 'that.' But then I thought that the answer key should be wrong.

    You were right. The answer key was wrong. Also, the word after Matisse​ should be "fell".
