answer to how much does one pair of

    Hi,

A: How much does one pair of shoes cost?
    B: They cost ... / It costs ...

I cannot decide which one is OK - they or it. I think that it might be OK to use they because of 'shoes' but also that it is OK because of 'one pair.'

    Thanks.

You could use either, but "they" is more natural to me.

In real life we'd probably just state the price.
