    the 'love' part

I heard something like 'I could not understand the 'love' part, could you please tell me again?' in the tv series 'Friends' and I am sure that the word 'part' comes after 'love.'

I want to ask why 'part' comes after it? Is it not better to say '...understand the part 'love' ...'?

    Re: the 'love' part

The speaker doesn't understand a part of what someone else said: the part about love.
    I am not a teacher.
