Hello everyone,

There's an exercise in one textbook in which students have to tick five ungradable adjectives. According to the teacher's book, they are:

Gripping
Electrifying
Horrific
Awesome
Unforgettable

I think there's a mistake in the book because "brilliant" is on the list of gradable adjectives.

My question is, is the mistake in the instruction (they have to tick six adjectives) or one of the five listed as ungradable is in fact gradable? Possibly "gripping"?? Can't you say that a book is very gripping? After all it's similar to "exciting"...

Thanks!

Some of the answers will be subjective. There are degrees of brilliance. I wouldn't change the answer.
