Dear friends,

Tourists I work with as a tour guide often ask me to take pictures of them during photo stops near different historical signts. They usually ask me the question like "Would you mind taking a picture of all of us?"

If I agree to do it for them, should I answer "No, I wouldn't" or "Yes, I would"?

Thanks

Just say 'Sure. Which button do I press?'

Yes, that's absolutely clear. However, I'd like to know which of my options conveys agreement.

Thanks

You can say Not at all. Adding a few words or a gesture towards the camera will make it clear that you're agreeing to do what you've been asked.

You shouldn't answer Would you mind doing something with "Yes" unless you do mind. In that case, it's better to be extra clear: I'm sorry, I'm going to miss the bus if I don't run!

Milan: No, I wouldn't [mind]. / No problem. / My pleasure. / Of course, not [ = Of course, I would not mind]! That's part of my job. / I would be delighted to [take your picture]. / I was actually waiting for you guys to ask me!

The first, though there are many better responses. Not at all is far more natural.
