    "disposable slippers" and synonyms

    Dear friends,

Some museums in Russia (and in the world as well) require people to wear slippers inside by putting them on the shoes. How can we call these slippers due to the way they're used?

    1) Some museums make us put on disposable slippers while we're inside.

    2) Some museums make us put on one-time / one-timed slippers while we're inside.

    Thanks

They aren't slippers because they go over the shoes. You can call them disposable booties or slip-on shoe covers.

"Disposable booties" seems to be correct according to google pictures:

"slip-on shoe covers" isn't exactly what I'm looking for

Here is what I need in Russian:

Maybe you'll have any other suggestions?

Booties is a good choice. You will find the same items described as disposable slip-on shoe covers.

Thanks! Is it still possible to use an expression with "one-time" or "one-timed" as suggested in my Message 1?

    They would be "single-use" booties.

"Single use" is okay, but disposable is more natural.

    not a teacher

Without in any way taking issue with the answers so far, in my experience of Aust/NZ English, almost without exception "booties" refers to a baby's shoes. Especially of the soft, woollen variety. Being asked to put on booties at the museum would probably elicit a smile from many Antipodeans.

    Re: "disposable slippers" and synonyms

Like JMurray, I associate booties with knitted baby shoes. I would probably call the items under discussion in this thread "disposable/single-use slip-on shoe covers".
