    I really do/I really am.

    Hi,

    1- I think I am dying. I really do.
    2- I think I am dying. I really am.

Which one is OK - do or am? I think both are OK but cannot make sure of it.

    Thanks.

It depends on whether you want to stress that you think that you are dying, or that you are dying.
The natural choice would be 1.

Try extending the second sentences to make them clearer:

I think I'm dying. I really do think I'm dying.
I think I'm dying. I really am dying.
    I am not a teacher.
