Lightbulb 'What links with the academic world, if any,...?

I'm filling a job vacancy form, and among those questions, I don't understand the following:

"What links with the academic world, if any, would you like to maintain should you join our company?"

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome to the forum.

Which specific words/parts do you not understand?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Well, at this sentence, there are three questions (what, would you, should) which is strange. I don't understand what does this question is asking for. Is it asking for my academic background? Or is it asking about my connections to other professors? Or even something else?

Does it help your understanding if you replace "should" with "if"? For now, ignore "if any".

There is only one question in total.
