Hi,

A: I have to wear a uniform at school.
B: So have I.

Is it wrong to say 'so I have' instead of 'so do I'?

Thanks.

It's comprehensible but unidiomatic.

We would say So do I.

We definitely would not say So I have. It's wrong to say this.

(I'm guessing that GoesStation thought you were saying So have I, which would be an appropriate response to: I have got to wear a uniform at school.)

I misread your question. You can say So I have! as an exclamation, as in:

A: You've got your shirt buttoned wrong.
B: So I have! Thanks for pointing it out.

You can't respond to I have to wear a uniform at school with "So I have." You'd have to invert subject and verb as you did in your quoted dialog.

And "So have I" works also when 'have' is not an auxiliary.

"I have a black cat."
"So have I" / "So do I"

If you wanted to repeat the verb "have to" in the response, you would need to say "I have to, too". It's clunky so use "So do I".
