    Word "luminous"

I have tried to use "luminous" in my sentences. I am not sure if my sentences sound natural. Would you please correct my mistakes?

    1. The meadow was bathed in luminous sunlight.
    2. As Peter saw the woman's luminous face, his heart started to ponder.
    3. Luminous Christmas trees stood at corners and squares and made little town look like a fairy tale.

This doesn't work very well for me because sunlight is obviously luminous, so there's no need to describe it as being that.
