What is the meaning of the word "latter"? I read its meaning but I didn't get it. Could you please explain its meaning?

    Re: Latter.

When you list two items, the latter of them is the most-recently mentioned one.

For example: I received two Amazon orders yesterday, a phone faceplate and a two-port Quickport bracket. I probably won't end up using the latter. You can replace "the latter" with a two-port Quickport bracket.

You didn't ask about this, but you can refer to the other item as the former. I installed the former right away. Unfortunately, I messed up the installation.
