    examples for verb

A verb is defined in dictionary as

a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, and forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence, such as hear, become, happen

I can think of examples for action but couldnt think of examples for state or occurence.

Can anybody give one example for occurence and one for state?
